Talk about an awesome experience. The facilities were incredible, tons of free stuff (food, snacks, sodas (from vending machines), board (my own room with key card style entry), airfare...) You name it, and it was probably free. The only time I spent money that weekend was at the airport so I could eat--a tasty turkey on foccacia for $5.95 at Chicaco's O'Hare airport.
The kids were from all over. Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Ontario, Ottawa, Vancouver, BERKELEY, Upstate New York, Ithaca, Los Angeles, Houston, Virginia Beach, Alabama (can't remember which city), Seattle, Portland, Denver and more. I wish the program lasted another day so that I could have had more time to talk to everyone.
Every person I met wanted to share themselves and learn more about each other. It's a pretty amazing experience.
