Day 6
[Vila Mariana, Sao Paulo]
So far so very very good
These past few days in the city have been great. My Portuguese is slowly but surely improving. Nevertheless, I'm pretty far from blending in with the locals. In America, I was often mistaken for being Indian, Hawaiian, Middle Eastern, etc. Even though Brasilians are all a smattering of different ethnicities, there's still no chance that this Filipina looks remotely like them.
There's always a 'but'
As dope as Brasil is, I think the only crappy thing about it is that tourists are big targets. I'm adjusting to the fact that I can't walk around freely. Wouldn't do too much good since my Portuguese is crap anyway, haha. So far I can say sentences that have the words "where, more, but, bathroom, speak, name, what, how, i need, i want, cup, thank you, please, no, yes, without, stairs, keys, and matrix reloaded".
Matrix v 2.0
I saw Matrix Reloaded last night. It was all in English with Portuguese subtitles. Action was amazing (of course), but I was a little confused at the end. I do believe I'll need to watch it again. I didn't quite catch all of the dialogue. surprise surprise.
