>>and you're turning tricks with your crucifix, you're a star<< U2's "hold me thrill me kiss me kill me"

oh yeah huh
My four week winter break got me used to not blogging daily. I never thought i'd see the day when i'd let more than two days pass without blogging. I guess it's a good thing because my infrequent blogs imply that i'm staying away from my computer more often.

Nothing exciting lately except that I'm going to a Bindlestiff Studios comedy jam on Friday night and tonight is my first photo class. Other than that, i've been doing homework.

>>Look at me, I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree<< Ella Fitzgerald's "Misty"

The Castro
I went to San Francisco's ever popular lgbt neighborhood on Saturday.

*this is an excerpt from an email to a friend. So Andrea, sorry if you're checking this out and it sounds familiar :o)

*******************************************************
In addition to "Hot Cookie" (where I had a California Chip cookie (coconut, almonds, and chocolate chips)), I also checked out "RoCocoa's Faerie Queene Chocolates", a place owned and operated by a ventriloquist sporting Santa Claus' beard plus blush, plucked eyebrows and rainbow suspenders.

Hmm, I wanted to go to "Thai House" on Noe and Henry, but it was closed, and I wasn't very hungry after eating RoCocoa's Tiramisu gelato and a piece of marzipan (my first ever). The Thai place is supposedly the best Thai cuisine in a three neighborhood radius-- next time for sure. Who wants to go?

Having grown up in the Bay Area, I'm ashamed to say that today was actually my first foray into a part of San Francisco other than Union Square and Embarcadero center. Where else will I find "Disney Bedtime Stories" (on sale) six feet away from a book about erotic pleasure for lesbians?

>>"One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do<< Aimee Mann's "One"

Day two
Almost certain I was going to take Classics 161 (the study of sexuality and gender in Ancient Greek society), I realized I didn't want to expend too much effort reading old literature for a Pass/No Pass class. Instead, I shall be taking on History 111 - Southeast Asia from its very beginning through 1815. Granted, the reader is super fat fat, but I'd rather read new articles than try to understand old plays (i still love Euripides by the way) and write papers about them. I figure I'd have a little easier time in History.

There was one other class I was considering: Italian 117: Trends in prose, poetry, fiction and theatre in the 20th century. Assuming this was a literature class about art in Italy, I signed up. I went to the class today and discovered that the professor and class were speaking a language other than English. The Schedule of Classes said nothing about a prerequisite knowledge of Italian. Not my fault.

Ciao.

first day o' school
Today was a great way to ease back into school mode. Only had one class in the morning and the rest of it was spent running errands here and there.

Good thing: Signed up for a photo class. Thursdays 7-9pm.

where oh where
Forget the cabin fever. I'm happy doing my thing--which isn't much, haha :o) Today was productive.

Played the mommy role to my 5 year old sister. Today was her first day back at kindergarten after her winter break. I made her a peanut butter sandwich and gave her some Caprisun hookups and dropped her off. Went to el gimnasio, got home, trimmed my room with plastic so my dad can texture my ceiling and then picked Isabella up at 2pm. Gave her a bath even.

I have 2 full weeks left. I need to create a schedule of things i'm going to do. Hmm. Brainstorming. I was planning to go explore san francisco, and there's still time to do that. Must order some more B&W film from bhphotovideo.com (way cheaper). Must read second book of Harry Potter series. Must make a habit of drinking 64 oz. of water a day. Supposed to go visit Pamela in sta. barbara. We'll see.

soo yeah
Haven't had much to post. When finals were in full swing I promised I wouldn't take vacation for granted, but I'm getting cabin fever already.
I have been shooting, but the process of improvement is slow and somewhat discouraging. The righteous thing, though, is that if i keep chugging I'll have to improve.
